SOUTHOLD - The driver who was allegedly drunk behind the wheel when his pickup truck slammed into a limo in Cutchogue Saturday was named in a wrongful-death lawsuit last year.
As News 12 has reported, Steven Romeo, of Peconic, was arrested for DWI after the crash that killed four young women.
Romeo is the co-owner of Romeo Dimon Marine, a boating services company based in Southold. In 2014, one of Romeo's employees died on the job.
News 12 is told that a bucket fell off a backhoe that Romeo was operating, hitting and killing the worker.
OSHA says 55-year-old Romeo was not trained to use the equipment.
The victim's family filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against Romeo and his company.
