PATCHOGUE - Police say a 24-year-old Bellport man was arraigned on DWI charges today after a two-car crash that injured six people, including an infant, yesterday morning.
According to authorities, Jorge Solorzano-Guzman was traveling eastbound on Woodside Avenue in East Patchogue when he drove through a red light at the intersection of Patchogue and Yaphank roads at 9:30 a.m.
Investigators say Guzman's car collided with another vehicle, seriously injuring a 7-month-old boy. The baby and two adults in that car were all taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center, where they were treated and released.
Solorzano-Guzman's two female passengers, Erika Perez Nivelo, 19, and Diana Matute Delgado, 22, were transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
A third passenger in Solorzano-Guzman's car, Enrique Delabarrera, 18, also of Bellport, sustained minor injuries and was charged with making a punishable false written statement for initially claiming to be the driver.
Solorzano-Guzman is being held on $100,000 bail.
