Dredging of the Shinnecock Inlet is set to begin tonight and last about a month. The $7.5 million project is expected to restore the inlet back to pre-hurricane standards. Joe Seebode, of the Army Corps of Engineers, says the dredging will remove sand from the inlet and pump it onto the beaches west of the jetty.
