LEVITTOWN - Google users around the world today got to check out an illustration drawn by an 11-year-old Long Island girl in place of the search engine's classic logo.

A drawing by Levittown fifth-grader Audrey Zhang beat out more than 100,000 other entries in the "Doodle For Google" competition. Her drawing was featured on the Google's homepage all day.

News 12 sat down with Zhang at school today, and she shared details on her winning drawing. It's called "Back to Mother Nature," and it depicts a water purifier as it cleans water. She says she came up with the idea when she learned that 3 million people die of diseases every year and most of them are children.

Zhang's prize from Google includes a $30,000 scholarship for herself and $50,000 for her school. Plus, another $20,000 will be sent to schools in Bangladesh that will have clean water, all in her name.

Zhang entered the competition three times before winning. She had a message for others: "If you don't win something, you should keep trying."
