WOODBURY - A Greenvale doctor was arraigned Tuesday after police allegedly caught him with a slew of drugs and prescription slips.

Authorities say they found Dr. Edmond Hakimi in a parked car with prescription drugs falsely made in his name and made out to other people. They also discovered more than 170 prescription pills typically used to treat anxiety and panic disorders. He was caught behind a building on Northern Boulevard in Great Neck.

Moreover, detectives say they came across marijuana, nearly 30 pills believed to be amphetamines and a white powdery substance believed to be the anti-erectile dysfunction drug Cialis.

Hakimi lives in Greenvale, but no one at his home answered the door for comment.

He was charged with seven counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of forgery. Hakimi was released after posting $1,000 bail.
