Dow closes above 14,000 for 1st time since 2007
Economist Dr. Martin Cantor says this is not a sign that the economy is on the road to recovery. (February 2, 2013)
WOODBURY - The Dow closed above 14,000 Friday for the first time since 2007, and many are wondering what that means for the economy.
While it's a significant milestone, economist Dr. Martin Cantor says this is not a sign that the economy is on the road to recovery.
Cantor says the spike could be followed by a big sell-off, so it's important to keep things in perspective.
Analysts say we're a long way from the dark days of 2009, but some aspects of the economy remain in the doldrums.
