HAMPTON BAYS - An alleged drunken driver fatally struck a pedestrian early Sunday morning in Hampton Bays, police say.

Donna Sartori, 56, of Middle Island, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say a Ford pick-up truck traveling westbound on Montauk Highway hit a parked car, Sartori, then Sartori’s parked car. The victim was delivering newspapers at the time of the crash.

Driver Joseph Perez, 31, of Aqueboque, was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. He was charged with driving while intoxicated.
