Dog run to open in Glen Cove next week

An off-the-leash dog run in Glen Cove is officially slated to open next week. The area can be found at Dennis Brian Murray Park.

Mayor Reginald Spinello says the dog run was built in response to the closing of Garvies Point, which has been closed during its waterfront project.

GLEN COVE - An off-the-leash dog run in Glen Cove is officially slated to open next week.

The area can be found at Dennis Brian Murray Park.

Mayor Reginald Spinello says the dog run was built in response to the closing of Garvies Point, which has been closed during its waterfront project.

Resident Cindy Miller says the dogs will love it.

"They need the exercise and the fresh air just like we do," she says.
