Dog found beaten in Suffolk dies

WEST ISLIP - Officials say a Rottweiler found beaten in Suffolk County has died.

Police say her owner, Steven Errante, hit the dog several times with a baseball bat on Dec. 22. They say the dog suffered fractures to her head and face, trauma to her body and a broken forearm. Her injuries were so extensive she had to be put down on Saturday.

Errante is accused of aggravated cruelty to animals.
