Dog found abandoned in Coram being nursed back to health
CORAM - An emaciated dog that was near death was rescued on Saturday, and now animal workers are attempting to nurse it back to health.
Queen, a 10- or 11-year-old mastiff, was found by the estranged wife of her owner in a Coram apartment. Officials say that it appeared that the dog hadn't eaten in about three weeks.
Tuncay Adem, who works closely with the animal rescue group Guardians of Rescue, says Queen is in renal failure.

Suffolk SPCA Detective Paul Llobell says they are still trying to contact everyone who knew the dog, including the owner. He also says it is clear that Queen may have been rescued just in time.
Officials say that Queen is being given plenty of food and water and is not giving up.
