Dog credited with saving sleeping Huntington family from house fire
A dog is being credited for alerting a sleeping family to a fire in their Huntington home.
The flames erupted at the two-story home on Dumbarton Drive at around 1:40 a.m. Roxanne, the Herlihy family's 5-year-old English bulldog, started barking loudly and nudging the couple's son.
The son woke up, alerted his parents and they called 911 as they ran out.
