DIX HILLS - Dozens of young gymnasts may be forced out into the cold because a Dix Hills gym they've been using is telling them to pack up their equipment.

The Half Hollow Hills School District has told the director of the Half Hollow Hills Gymnastics Workshop, Marissa Wharry, she can no longer keep giant gym mats on the floor when they're not in use because it's an insurance liability.

But Wharry says that since there's no other place to put the mats, she may have to shut the program down.

The school district says it's trying to work with the gymnastics program to develop alternatives for the mats.
