HEMPSTEAD - The former Rikers Island corrections officer accused of stabbing a Nassau cop is heading back to court today.
Christopher Sargeant is charged with attempted murder of a police officer.
The Hempstead man is accused of stabbing a Nassau Emergency Services officer in the stomach on Sunday.
Sargeant was allegedly tossing rocks at cars in Hempstead when officers tried to arrest him.
Sargeant insists he had "noting to do" with the stabbing.
