Deal on immigration reform expected today

WASHINGTON - Senators from both parties are expected to strike a deal on immigration reform today.

The bipartisan agreement has the backing of Republican Sen. John McCain and Democratic Sens. Charles Schumer and Dick Durbin. 

The agreement would provide immigrants in the United States with a path for citizenship and create a guest work system. The move would also hold employers accountable for hiring undocumented workers.
