NORTH BELLMORE - A North Bellmore boy is being hailed as a hero after saving another boy's life in a backyard swimming pool.

David Collins, 11, was at a friend's house Saturday night for a graduation party when he noticed another child at the bottom of the deep end. Collins quickly dove to the bottom and pulled the boy up.

Collins says an adult quickly began doing CPR and called 911. News 12 was told that the victim was conscious by the time he went to the hospital by ambulance. He is now home and doing well.
