HUNTINGTON - There is a new push to prevent wrong-way crashes on Long Island.
John Rey, 64, of Huntington, was killed in a wrong-way accident last year. The van Rey was driving was hit head on by a drunken driver on the LIE in Queens. Rey?s daughters are now urging state lawmakers to pass John Rey?s law, which would require speed bumps and spikes on entrance ramps to prevent wrong-way driving.
The bill has already passed the state Senate, but still needs approval from the Assembly.
