MEDFORD - The former Marine accused of brutally murdering a young Medford mom was in court Thursday.
Dante Taylor, 19, faces first-degree murder charges in the death of Sarah Goode.
Prosecutors say Taylor brutally beat Goode with a metal object while attempting to rape her.
Goode's body was found in a wooded area near her home after friends and family spent days searching for her.
Taylor pleaded not guilty to the upgraded charges in court Thursday.
He also faces an additional attempted rape charged in an unrelated case.
"It was another young girl who was attacked in a similar fashion with a knife, only she was able to get away and Sarah wasn't," says Suffolk Assistant DA Janet Albertson.
If convicted, Taylor faces life in prison without parole.
