Dance teacher pleads not guilty in rape case

BRENTWOOD - A Suffolk dance teacher accused of having sex with a 14-year-old student has pleaded not guilty.

Bryan Galvis was arraigned on several charges, including rape, this afternoon.

Galvis, of Brentwood, was arrested in January and accused of having sex with the student at the now closed Latin Dance Company in Bay Shore.

Prosecutors say Galvis and the victim started the relationship in October.

Galvis faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
