Dan Losquadro claims victory in race for Town of Brookhaven highway superintendent

Last month's snowstorm left many residents angry at the town for its poor response to snow removal. (March 6, 2013)

WOODBURY - The Town of Brookhaven has elected a new highway superintendent just as Long Island residents brace for another storm that could bring some snow.

Republican Dan Losquadro is claiming victory with 294 out of 295 districts reporting. According to Newsday, rival Democrat Kathy Walsh has conceded.

Last month's snowstorm left many residents angry at the town for its poor response to snow removal. Many were trapped in their homes for days without seeing a single snowplow.

This new storm could be a test for the new highway superintendent.
