NORTH MASSAPEQUA - A North Massapequa baby was delivered by her father in the kitchen of their house Thursday.

Mother Erin Kemper says she started having contractions while still at home. One hour later, and after one push, Michael Ferriggi delivered their first child in their kitchen at 6 a.m.

The baby girl, named Mia Isabella, weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was wrapped in dish towels before paramedics arrived.

Mia and her mother were taken to Nassau University Medical Center after her birth. They are planning to return home later tonight.
