DA's Office: Nassau Crime Lab felony drug evidence to be retested

WOODBURY - The Nassau County District Attorney?s Office says that District Attorney Kathleen Rice plans to have all felony drug evidence that was sent to the Nassau Crime Lab over the past three years retested.

Official Carole Trottere says that all blood-alcohol tests dating back to 2006 will also be reviewed.

As News 12 Long Island has reported, the crime lab was shut down last month following allegations that tests were botched and the mistakes ignored.

Earlier this week, the first conviction based on those faulty test results was thrown out.
