DA: No charges filed against cops who killed knife-wielding man

POINT LOOKOUT - ? The district attorney has announced that no charges will be filed against the police officers who shot and killed a knife-wielding man.Nassau District Attorney Kathleen Rice issued the report today on last August?s shooting.

Kurt Doerbecker was shot by police outside his Point Lookout home.

Police were trying to question Doerbecker about a reported break-in of a nearby home.

The report says the suspect refused to obey an order to drop a knife then charged at officers.

Doerbecker?s family filed a federal lawsuit claiming the police actions were unjustified.
