CENTRAL ISLIP - ? Four Suffolk County school districts now have a big hole in their budgets after the governor declined their request for aid.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) has vetoed funds for Central Islip, Smithtown, Rocky Point and Babylon.
The schools asked for help after missing deadlines for state reimbursements of construction costs.
Cuomo says the requests would have cost the state nearly $60 million, with Central Islip requesting $42 million alone.
Many parents say they are worried about what the loss of funding will do to school programs, class sizes and the overall quality of their children's educations.
