WOODBURY - Officials say insurance payments could be coming sooner than expected to help speed up the Sandy recovery effort.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says banks and mortgage companies will work together to get payments to residents in need.

Officials want to clear the red tape that's causing big delays for homeowners dealing with major damage.

The grace period for mortgage payments has also been expanded for another three months.
