Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that this weekend you can fish anywhere in the state without a license.

New York has 7,500 lakes and ponds and 50,000 miles of rivers and streams.

This Saturday and Sunday, you can fish for free without paying the normal yearly fee of $25.

The move is part of Gov. Cuomo’s "Open for Fishing and Hunting Initiative."
