STONY BROOK - Crews worked Thursday to clean up a chemical spill at Stony Brook University.

The spill happened Wednesday night outside the heavy engineering building.

It's not clear exactly what chemical spilled or how.

However, emergency teams say the spill inside that building was small and never posed a danger.

Stony Brook officials asked that everyone avoid the area until the spill is completely cleaned up.
