Crews are breaking ground this morning at the old Islip Town landfill to make way for a solar power farm.Officials say nearly 20,000 solar panels

ISLIP - Crews are breaking ground this morning at the old Islip Town landfill to make way for a solar power farm.

Officials say nearly 20,000 solar panels will be put in place at the location.

The panels will covert sunlight to electricity.

Officials say the panels should generate enough juice to power 500 homes a year.
