WOODBURY - A court of appeals is hearing arguments today regarding the Suffolk District Attorney's term limit law.

District Attorney Thomas Spota wants another term and has challenged the 12-year limit. A mid-level court was split on the issue.

A decision is expected to be handed down within days.

If the court rules in Spota's favor, he will square off with criminal attorney Raymond Perini next month in a Republican primary.
