CENTRAL ISLIP - A man charged with killing a woman after fleeing from the cops apologized today for her death.

Prosecutors say Cordell Tucker stole clothing and fled from police officers who attempted to pull him over. Authorities say Tucker led officers on a 26-mile chase that ended when he slammed into the car of Gail Sacher, 62, killing her.

The Brooklyn native faces a slew of charges, including second-degree manslaughter, assault and grand larceny.

Tucker's lawyer says he is "very remorseful."

Closing arguments will be delivered Thursday.
