CORAM - A robber looking to make a quick buck at a Coram pizzeria came up short changed.
The thief was caught on video surveillance looking almost stunned when he saw nothing but money trays containing $3.50. Police told Kyle Markott, the owner of Gio's pizzeria, to leave the almost empty trays out by the registers as a way to show crooks that crime doesn't pay.
Gio's has been open since September and has already been hit twice. According to Markott, police tell him his establishment is not alone. He says police tell him someone has been going after food establishments in the area.
