Police are searching for the attacker who assaulted a man and allegedly tried to shoot him during an attempted robbery in Uniondale.

UNIONDALE - Police are searching for the attacker who assaulted a man and allegedly tried to shoot him during an attempted robbery in Uniondale.

It happened just before 11 p.m. Saturday on Ruxton Street, near Gerald Street.

Police say the victim was approached by a man driving a gray car, possibly a Chevy Impala.

They say the man took out a gun, hit the victim in the face and then tried shooting at him as the victim ran off.

Anyone with information that could help investigators is urged to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
