HEWLETT - Police are searching for the men who attacked a Hewlett jewelry store owner and put a gun to a child's head.

Cops say last night when three men with guns showed up at Julia's Place Jewelry on Peninsula Boulevard. The men pistol-whipped, punched and kicked the store owner. One of the men put a gun to the head of an 8-year-old who was in the store. The store owner suffered lacerations to the head. Everyone else is OK.

The men stole jewelry from the display cases and then took off in a dark-colored car. Police are asking anyone with information to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
