SOUTHAMPTON - Police on the lookout for drunken drivers during the Memorial Day holiday weekend say nearly 100 were caught at DWI checkpoints.

According to authorities, several DWI checkpoints were set up from the East End to the Queens border at the beginning of the weekend. Nassau County arrested 47 accused drunken drivers between Friday evening and 6 a.m. Monday, while Suffolk County arrested 44 accused drunken drivers.

East Hampton police say they've only arrested five people, but will continue to monitor the streets.
