Cops: Man surrenders after barricading himself in Riverhead home

RIVERHEAD - ? Riverhead police responded to a call of a disturbance this afternoon on Segal Avenue in Riverhead. Cops say officers found a resident of that address, Zdsislaw Skobodzinkski, 35, in a heated domestic dispute with his live-in girlfriend.According to police, Skobodzinkski threatened to shoot arriving officers and then barricaded himself inside the residence. The woman and her 6-year-old son were removed from the residence by the responding officers. Police shut down traffic on East Main Street in the vicinity of Segal Avenue and nearby homes and businesses were evacuated due to the standoff. Suffolk County Police Emergency Services and a Hostage Negotiation Team responded to the scene and after a period of three hours, Skobodzinkski came out of the residence and surrendered himself to police without incident. Police say an unloaded double barrel shotgun was recovered from the home.
