SELDEN - Suffolk police say a man died yesterday while clearing snow from his car in Selden as he went to run an errand for his mother.

Suffolk County police say the 58-year-old man apparently suffered a medical problem while removing snow at St. Joseph's Village, a senior citizens' apartment complex.

The body of the man, whose identity has not yet been released, was found shortly before 5 p.m. yesterday.

Dennis Castillo, a worker at the apartment complex, says the man was visiting with his mother, who lives there.

Castillo says the mother became worried after her son left to go to the store and didn't return for hours. The man was found by his still-running car.

AP wire services contributed to this report.
