LINDENHURST - A Lindenhurst High School student is facing serious charges today after police say she made a bomb threat targeting the school.
Police say Dominique Best, 16, left the threat dated for today on a scientific calculator at the school.
Best was arraigned on felony charges that include falsely reporting an incident.
According to investigators, the threat was found last Thursday. Best was taken into custody yesterday following an investigation.
Best's attorney says the entire incident is being blown out of proportion and the information. In addition, her attorney says the principal of the school wrote a letter on Best's behalf, stating that she is a good student.
If convicted, Best could face up to seven years behind bars.
