Cops: Baby found at North Lawrence recycling facility was stillborn

The infant's body was discovered on a conveyor belt at the Town of Hempstead facility last Tuesday.

NORTH LAWRENCE - The baby found dead at a North Lawrence recycling facility was a boy and he was stillborn, according to officials.

The infant's body was discovered on a conveyor belt at Town of Hempstead facility last Tuesday.

According to Newsday, his umbilical and placenta were still attached when he was found.

Investigators are still trying to identify the mother.
