A Copiague man is accused of trying to kill his ex-girlfriend in a Massapequa parking lot.The incident happened at Carman's Plaza in Massapequa. Shoppers heard

COPIAGUE - A Copiague man is accused of trying to kill his ex-girlfriend in a Massapequa parking lot.

The incident happened at Carman's Plaza in Massapequa. Shoppers heard the 25-year-old woman screaming from inside an SUV and rushed to help.

Police say the unidentified woman was stabbed 13 times by her ex-boyfriend. Police have identified the man as 45-year-old Ruben Estrada. Estrada then stabbed himself in the chest.

Both are in critical but stable condition. Estrada is now facing attempted murder charges.
