NORTHVILLE - Controversy is brewing over a proposed microbrewery in Northville.Businessmen George Greene and Tim McCarthy want to open a microbrewery at the site of the abandoned schoolhouse on Sound Avenue. They say it would be a small, family-friendly operation that would boost the local economy. But some civic groups want to nix the proposed microbrewery because they say it doesn't belong in an agricultural community. The Riverhead Town Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a hearing on the proposal next Thursday.
