HUNTINGTON - A Manhattan consultant issued a report today to Town of Huntington officials in an effort to fix the parking congestion in the Village of Huntington.

The 140-page report discusses recommendations for parking restrictions and offers solutions that would help ease the parking troubles.

Dr. Ralph Kornblatt, owner of Family Optical, says he doesn't feel restrictions would help the problem. He maintains the only real solution is to build a parking garage in the Village of Huntington.

However, those against building a parking garage feel it would make the area look too much like Manhattan or Queens.

Town officials will hold a public hearing on the matter on Aug. 13. Meantime, a committee has been appointed to review the report.
