TUCSON, Arizona - Hospital officials say Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is showing signs of improvement after being shot in the head on Saturday.
Giffords is in a medically induced coma but doctors periodically take her off sedation and say she is responding well to commands. Doctors say Giffords survived a point blank gunshot to the head and are still worried about swelling in her brain.
A total of six people were killed and 14 were hurt during the shooting spree outside an Tucson supermarket.
A makeshift memorial has been set up outside the Arizona hospital where the victims are recovering.
