PATCHOGUE - A concert benefit event was held in Patchogue Sunday for a 7-year-old with a rare blood disease known as ATRX.

Emma Nelson requires life-supporting tubes and ventilation, which can be hard to attach and reattach for visits to the doctor. All of the funds raised during the event are going toward a van with a lift and other safety features, allowing her to keep her tubes intact around the clock.

The benefit at 89 North Music Venue featured a performance by Randy Jackson, of Zebra fame, who says Long Islanders are known for their generosity.

Other events have been held to help Emma and a web page is accepting donations for her safety van.
