RIVERHEAD - There are new concerns over sex offenders in Suffolk County.
Officials say the county doesn't have enough shelters to comply with a new law.
Last month, a county law passed that calls for no more than one offender to be placed at each shelter.
Newsday says about 40 homeless male sex offenders have to be relocated.
However, the county only has 10 shelters.
County officials say a permanent solution depends on a federal lawsuit seeking to overturn Suffolk's law, but with possible appeals a final decision could take months.
