MELVILLE - Residents using all modes of transportation braved slick conditions brought on by Thursday’s snowstorm.

The road conditions led to a number of accidents. A plow overturned in Cold Spring Harbor along Route 108 & 25A. A garbage truck drove into the divider heading westbound on the LIE in Hauppague. A truck also needed to be towed after skidding on the LIE in Syosset.

Plows were out on busy roads such as Route 110 throughout the day.

The LIRR experienced scattered delays over the course of the snowstorm. Platforms were scraped at the Hicksville Train Station, but there was no heat in the waiting room because of a power outage.

Residents were advised to be careful on icy roadways overnight and during Friday morning's rush hour.
