RIVERHEAD - ? It has been a tough week for people without power, but some Long Islanders are trying to make things a little easier and help those in need. Yesterday, in Huntington Station, Island Harvest brought its mobile food truck to Manorfield Park and handed out non-perishable food items.

The Suffolk Correctional Facility in Riverhead is giving out free ice. Nassau County is offering a number of facilities for residents without hot water to take showers. Today, the Freeport Salvation Army will be offering meals to Long Islanders who still don't have power. You can go to The Salvation Army's Freeport Community Center anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
