MEDFORD - A Medford community says it wants answers over why nine registered sex offenders were illegally placed under the same roof in their neighborhood.

The Town of Brookhaven has a law which prevents more than two offenders from living in the same single-family home. However, residents say that didn't stop the group of men from being placed on Country Road together and they want to know who is responsible.

News 12 Long Island started asking questions about the home and while no answers have been given, officials quickly began making changes. One of the men was moved out last night and five others were told today that they'll have to relocate too.

In a statement, Supervisor Mark Lesko told News 12 Long Island that Brookhaven never requested, nor gave permission to house all nine offenders under one roof, and demanded that they be moved yesterday after determining the home was violating town law.
