New York Education Commissioner John B. King Jr. has canceled Long Island's only town hall meeting on state testing and the new Common Core curriculum.

GARDEN CITY - New York Education Commissioner John B. King Jr. has canceled Long Island's only town hall meeting on state testing and the new Common Core curriculum.

King says "special interests" hijacked the first forum on the Common Core.

Long Island's only meeting had been set for Tuesday in Garden City.

King also called off three other planned town hall meetings across the state.
