COMMACK - A Commack man who has been arrested six times on drunken driving charges is being held on $20,000 bond today.
Police arrested 24-year-old Carlos Lennon, of Commack, yesterday for the latest incident. According to state police, Lennon was headed eastbound on the Southern State Parkway at Wantagh Avenue when he suddenly darted across three lanes of traffic and crashed into a guardrail.
Officials say after they arrested Lennon, he claimed to be his brother, who has a clean driving record. A fingerprint match later confirmed it was Carlos Lennon.
During Lennon's arraignment this afternoon, an assistant district attorney told the judge that the 24-year-old waiter failed a Breathalyzer test and may not have installed a mandatory interlock device for his car after his fifth DWI conviction in Suffolk County last year.
Lennon's case was adjourned until next week. If convicted on this latest DWI charge, he faces up to three years behind bars.
