Colo. massacre suspect reportedly wrote out plans prior to attack

FOX News is reporting that the suspect in the Colorado movie massacre mailed a notebook containing his attack plans to a University of Colorado psychiatrist

WOODBURY - FOX News is reporting that the suspect in the Colorado movie massacre mailed a notebook containing his attack plans to a University of Colorado psychiatrist before the rampage.

According to the report, the package containing the notebook sat unopened for up to a week.

James Holmes is accused of opening fire inside a crowded movie theater showing a midnight premiere of the movie "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, Colo, killing 12 and injuring 58 others.

Details have also started to emerge about a possible motive behind the deadly attacks.

Holmes had reportedly failed an exam necessary for his PhD studies. After learning of the failure he bought a high-powered rifle and started the process of dropping out of the school, according to reports.

Experts say the failure of the exam could have triggered a mental illness.
