Coles Jaquet killed in Huntington Station crash on Pidgeon Hill Road, driver Fermin Estevez injured

An accident in Huntington Station has claimed the life of man and seriously injured another. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. Friday at Pidegeon Hill

HUNTINGTON STATION - An accident in Huntington Station has claimed the life of man and seriously injured another.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. Friday at Pidgeon Hill Road and Windham Drive.

Police say the driver of an Acura crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a Toyota Sienna head-on.

Authorities say the passenger in the Acura, 30-year-old Coles Jacquet of Huntington Station, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, 23-year-old Fermin Estevez, is in critical condition at Stony Brook University Medical Center with head injuries.

A family in the other car, including a couple and their three children, were taken to the hospital, treated and released.

Police are investigating whether speed was a factor in the crash.
